Insurance

INSURANCE
Domestic logistics can utilize a diversity of transportation options for moving goods.
During transportation, cargo faces risks which may result in financial damage to its owners. Our insurance compensates any loss or damage suffered by cargo in transit, provided it has been duly packed and shipped for its international carriage.

Easy to take out, this insurance is the most comprehensive one in the market and will give you access to our experience and reliability for your peace of mind in conducting your business.
Types of Polices
  • Shipment by shipment
  • Project Cargo
Full Cover
This insurance protects your investment from all the risks faced by your goods during and as a consequence of carriage.
Goods to which it applies:
  • Brand new goods carried in closed containers or under deck
  • Scope of coverage:
  • No franchise deductible
  • No deductible
  • Door to door
  • Gross average
  • At loading/unloading
  • Up to 60 days in temporary warehouses
  • Up to 60 days in destination port
  • Optional supplement: extended coverage in temporary warehouses and during war and strike
Duration of coverage

Coverage is door to door. This means that the cargo is covered from the time it leaves the warehouse of origin (exporter’s) for the commencement of the transit up to delivery to its final destination named in the policy (importer’s warehouse).
Otherwise, coverage terminates upon occurrence of any of the following circumstances:
  • The cargo is shipped to a destination other than the one agreed upon in the insurance policy
  • The cargo remains at a temporary warehouse for over 60 days without prior agreement as to the extension of the term
  • The cargo remains at the port of destination for over 60 days after unloading
  • Ownership of the cargo is transferred
Project Cargo
All our experience in the special handling required by project cargo shipments and—most important—our flexible policies are brought to you so that coverage may be adapted to the specific needs of each project.
The large size of these pieces of cargo as well as the sensitive handling needed by them call for sound financial and legal support, which we can provide thanks to the combined use of our Cargo Insurance, Liability Insurance, and customs bonds products.

Legal Framework
Liability Insurance is governed by the following international conventions, depending on the mode of transport:
  1. By sea: Brussels Convention 1924 (“Hague Rules”) and its amendments
  2. By air: Warsaw Convention 1929 and its amendments
  3. Multimodal: Geneva Convention 1980 and its amendments, depending on the location where the damage or loss occur
